to jim and linda fosteri hope linda's hip surgery went fine. i just saw your plea for information from someone who has had this type of surgery. i had replacement at the age of 18 and it had been cemented in. it lasted for 13 years, which during those years i had 4 children and moved 2 times. at the age of 31 i had a revision, the non-cemented type and that has lasted 11 years now. i can't run a marathon, i havent even tried, but how many people can. i am as normal as possible, work part time by choice and keep up with a large house and 4 children who have each taken my old hip to school over the years as show and tell. good luck and just be glad you can remain functional.namke8.aol
