Hi rosie, There is no medical cure with medications but a lung transplant is the best and only option available for a cure for sever stages except a bevine miracle from God. My husband was diagnosed in 1999 and the disease could not be stopped - It began to spread rapidly -He was placed on the transplant list in Birmingham, Alabama in feb. this year-- he is on O2 24/7 and needs to use a wheelchair- he is 46 yrs and had never been sick before in his life expect to have his tonsils removed before he was school age- His disease seems to caused by his work history.
