                        I have been diagnosed this past year with OPCA after being diagnosed for 8 yrs. with MS. Have very bad ataxia plus double vision, etc. Have had many bad falls, broken bones, over last 8 yrs; after researching OPCA came to the conclusion that I must have cerebellar ataxia.  But my neurologist wont put it in a category; treating symptoms with same medicines as MS except no Avonex.   I am frustrated that I can't get more of a definite idea as how to treat this and "give it a name" other than   the general OPCA!  I am 62 and in fairly good health otherwise; of course, this ailment gives enough problems of its own.  Problem is getting an aerobic exercise that I can do; I love to walk with my walker  with a seat on it but I live in  AZ in a remote area with no handivans, even surface to walk on and no support groups.  I would really like to correspsond with people who have similar problems and learn how they are coping.  I am "coping" well with several (complimentary) anti-depressants and the rest of my medicines.  Would like to get off wheat/gluten and sugar.  Heard it has helped lots of people to eliminate those from their diet.  Please let me know, anyone, how you are coping.  Thanks, Jeanette
