Hi, I also have a six year old daughter who was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa more than four years ago and that was a big shock to me because it was the first time to hear about it and the first case in both family members. As I was told by more than one doctor that till now there is no cure for this disease but Vitamin A may help to slow the progression of the disease but didn't prescribe it. He told me to give her multivitamins instead cause high dose of vitamin A may cause brain damage. I read on the internet about recent research that vitamin E is good to slow down the tissue degeneration and I am giving these vitamins to may daughter hopefuly that this might be of benefit. (I am giving her vitamin E as a natrural source found in spinach and nuts) hope that this is true and praying that one day a cure will be found soon. for more information search in the internet under Retinitis Pigmentosa research. Good luck.
