My husband age 44 was diagnosed with depression 5 years ago. About a year after that he was diagnosed with hemochromotosis. The blood letting helped a little, but the depression hasn't improved. He has constant joint pain as well. His Dr. checks his iron level regularly, but never checks ferritin or anything else. What are the most important levels to check regarding the hemochromotosis? I KNOW the Hemochromotosis, Depression and joint pain are all related. Unfortunately his Dr. doesn't agree.
