                        Try a low sugar, no caffeine, low acid diet.  This essentially solved the problem for me.  I especially avoid coffee, citrus fruits, chocolate, and tomatoes.  I don't have to do this 100% of the time, just MOST of the time.  A half teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and some aspirin will quickly reduce pain in a crisis.  A hot washcloth can also help!  Good luck!
