Janice: Have you spoken with your cardiologist about wearing an "event monitor"? It's a Holter Monitor that you wear for a month and it records all your "events". Your cardiologist could use this to decide if you are a candidate for a pacemaker. Don't delay in letting him know about the frequency of your irregular heart beats as it can have deadly side effects. I have Mitral valve regurgitation and I also HAD aortic valve regurgitation. In 1997 my aortic valve was replaced. I still have skipped heart beats and my cardiologist calls it "an electrical system problem". My event monitor did not indicate a pacemaker and I've been able to take Probanthine to control them. They only happen sporatically now. Let me know what you decide and if I can answer any other questions.
