I'm 27 and I have had Bell's Palsy twice once when I was 16 and the other at 23. Mine wasn't as severe as alot of people here have posted. My mouth drooped and I couldn't blink my eye. The first time it lasted about 3 weeks before it started to gradually go away. The second time it lasted about 4 or 5 months before it started to go away. Each time it has left my mouth a little weaker. For example when I smile my right side doesn't go as high as the other. The residual effects though are not extreme. However the neurologist mentioned that when you get it once your are more susceptible to getting it again. He also said it will gradually get worse each time. I have actually seen several doctors about this. I don't think any of them have given me the same answer twice. However the neurologist I saw in Phoenix seemed to be the most knowledgable about what I was experiencing. Of course he was also charging my insurance company almost $300 dollars per half hour visits.
