It is possible, but from what I've learned, highly unlikely to get pregnant if you're not menstuating, because you're most likely not ovulating. This happened to me, also, after discontinuing the birth control pill (I'd been on it for 10 years) to try to get pregnant. I did not have a period at all for about 5 months. I then took Provera for 2 months, which did indeed get my period started. But as soon as I didn't take it again I didn't have a period again. At that time my husband & I decided that I should not take any more medications, and just let nature take its course. Two months later I had a very short, irregular period, then became pregnant. Our son is now almost 3 years old and we've decided to try for #2. (I went back on the pill after having him) I stopped taking the pill May 11 and have only had one period (the last week of June)- haven't had one since. After doing some research on my own I've come to the conclusion that my "lack of" menstruation could be either/or a combination of low estrogen levels and "stress" due to wanting to conceive a child so badly. I think my husband & I are going to wait a few more months to see if my periods become even remotely regular before we talk with my ob/gyn about taking Provera (or whatever drug my doctor recommends). Wanting and trying to get pregnant can be stressful to both your emotional and physical state even if you don't think you are stressed. It seems for me that as soon as we decided to not try so hard and to let nature do it's thing, I got pregnant quite quickly, so we're hoping history will repeat itself for us. Do check with your doctor - he/she can run some tests to rule out other problems, then you can decide what to do from there. Good Luck to you and check back with me if you'd like.
