I am interested in hearing from anyone who has had core decompression, a hip replacement, or other surgical procedure for AVN. I am 36 years old. Last year, I had core decompression surgery on my right hip and it aleviated some of the pain (but it still hurts a great deal). I am now scheduled for core decompression surgery on my left hip, but am considering going ahead with replacement. I do not feel the core decompression was a great success - I am still extrememly limited in normal activity. So, I'm wondering if the replacement is the way to go. Any advice from those of you who've been through this procedure?
