Yes, there is a link. Congenital spinal stinosis means that the canal that the spinal cord goes thru is narrower than normal. You like me probably have something that allows the discs to herniate easier that they should. But, the clincher is that we bec. of the stenosis have less room for the disc to go so we feel it. there are people walking around who don't feel it. That's why I had a hemi- lamenectomy to cut some of the bone allowing more room for the herniated disc. If it's congenital u probably are young like me. I'm now 20, but I started to feel the pain, spasms, numbness.. when I was 7 and it 's cause was found when I was 14.I wish u luck.
