I have a young son with a similar problem with constipation (only his is due to a genetic defect). We have had trouble getting enough fiber into his diet, but there is a product called "Benefiber" that I buy at a local restaurant supply store. It is tasteless and mixes completely into juice, milk, or whatever (not like metamucil that gets thick and grainy). Good luck!
