Sue, My husband also had shingles on his face. At first, he thought he might have a brain tumor, the pain was so intense. That went on for several days and then his face was really red. I thought his blood pressure was high so rushed him to the doctor's office. The doctor took one look at him and told us he had shingles. Well, it wasn't quite as bad as your husband's but it was still bad enough. He broke out on the left side of his head from his scalp down to his throat. He had blisters in his ears, nose, mouth and tongue. It came awfully close to his eye but didn't enter in the eye, thank goodness. He went through some pretty severe pain and scabbing but his scar's are minimal thank goodness. This has been over two years now and he is still worried he might get it back. I don't think he will but he still has that fear. I don't know if he will ever stop worring about it or not. I think the mental part of it is just as bad as the physical part.
