Hi--I've had a similar problem that started after I was in a traumatic auto accident 12 years ago. I've gone to numerous psychologists and pschiatrists, have tried numerous medications and am still battling the problem. Right now, I've decided to try homeopathy. Have you tried it yet? After I was hooked on Ambien for 4 years, I decided to quit taking sleeping pills forever. Even though I was using a tiny amount every night, it slowed down my mental processes in a very insidious way (I wasn't aware of what was going on.) I'll let you know how the homeopathy works for me. I just visited a reputable physician who specializes in it. Currently, I take neurontin (200 mg.) in the middle of the night. I plan on stopping that also. I really am working on getting to the point of not using any type of drugs...other than perhaps progesterone (my problem has a premenopausal component to it.) It's frustrating, because right now, I still can't be guaranteed a good night's sleep from day to day...although I am doing better than I was a few years ago. Let me know if you've tried homeopathy please! Thanks! I.G. P.S. My mom, grandfather and uncle all suffered from a similar problem.
