I have been on steroids for chronic asthma also and I have put on over 100 pounds and I have the round face (my mom calls it the racoon face). This is a symptom of the steroids. Steroids also cause mood swings. I too was a very attractive person physically. After the weight gain, I felt like you. I have since learned that I am "sick" and the "meds" cause me to look as I do....so....I have had to learn to "love" the real me--the me that is inside the "sick" body. Therapy can help.
