I have this condition brought on by a thyroidectomy (total) in 1986. because my para-thyroid was damaged i could not keep calcium in my body.after many months and dosage adjustments we succeded, but i needed blood work on a regular basis, as well as now to make sure my liver was not overloaded with vitamin d which is not water soluble. I have good days and then a flare up of muscle pain and fatigue. I find being in florida with the sun shine has helped and swimming is the only exercise that doen't make me sore, if I don't get to rambunctious. I take 3000 mg's calcitrate daily, plus rocatrol(vit. D) synthroid, blood pressure med's and shaklee vita -lea multivitamin which helps my body to keep the other vitamins and meds. Hope this helps.
