Hi Tammy, I have a Herrington Rod in my back along with another rod with several Babinski hooks. (sorry about the spelling there). My H. Rod actually broke a few years after I had it and the doctor had to go back in and take out the pieces. They were at the very top of the fusion and I had a tremendous amount of pain in the upper back and shoulder region. That's better now but I still hurt, especially with the weather. I am a soccer player and have been told many times to stop playing but I can't seem to give it up. I am actually home right now due to an injury from the field. I was hit straight on and landed on the small of my back right where my fusion starts at L3. Now I get to see another surgeon. So, I hope you have better luck and less pain than I. You are still young, take care and your back will take care of you. Lots of Luck! Kim
