                        Hi Tammy,    I have a Herrington Rod in my back along with another rod with several Babinski hooks. (sorry about the spelling there).  My H. Rod actually broke a few years after I had it and the doctor had to go back in and take out the pieces.  They were at the very top of the fusion and I had a tremendous amount of pain in the upper back and shoulder region.  That's better now but I still hurt, especially with the weather.  I am a soccer player and have been told many times to stop playing but I can't seem to give it up.  I am actually home right now due to an injury from the field.  I was hit straight on and landed on the small of my back right where my fusion starts at L3.  Now I get to see another surgeon.  So, I hope you have better luck and less pain than I.
