Kathy
I have experienced swelling on and off for years since I was a child, I have always had big legs and the doctors found nothing wrong. Over the years, they have gotten smaller when my weight was down. However, I have gained a lot of weight since my baby was born in September of 1999 and I am basically 50-60 pounds overweight(5'5", 209). I am big boned, I never weighed less than 145 since high school, but I have always been in good shape. I am now experiencing severe swelling in my legs, ankles and feet and poor circulation (my left leg is getting a burning sensation) and my left knee is starting to bother me, especially going up stairs. I retain a lot of water, but I don't drink water much. I used to work out a lot before my last baby, but I don't have much time lately, with school, work and community activities, including a husband and 2 kids to care for. Will a regular exercise regime, including, drinking more water and a low calorie diet (of course) alleviate the problem? I know I need to exercise more, but I don't want to cause any more problems. Help!!!!???
