Go to your doctor have him order an H-Philoec Halter monitoring test. it is done at a hospital/a small tube is feed through your nose down into your stomach that is then hooked up to a computer it will tell your doctor how the espoghus is working/mobility ect. It usually takes 45 min or so . Then they replace it with a smaller tube that is then connected to a small halter monitor computer that you wear for 24 hrs. It will tell you how often and how far up the acid is refuxing to. This information saved my life/ My Dad's Onlocolgy pulmonary doctor told me to tell my gastro doctor to get this done instead of me being on prilsed which then was not approved for more than 3 monthe because it caused cancer in lab mice. I opt to live longer and throw out the meds. Iwas aspirating every five min. Not even feeling it. When I did have attacks so sever I had to go to the ER and had IV of Zantac pumped in that was 5 years ago. My advice get the 24 hour halter monitor teat done. Don't let then talk you into doing just the blood test it doesn't show the actuall acid flow into the esogugus, or if its going into your lungs, relfux can cause cancer of the esop/lungs and stomach, those over the counter Zantac,Tagament etc. really just masks the physical goings on as do the prilosec.\I don't know why doctors do not unless general doctors aren't versed enough to send patients to gastro's and get this test done and perhaps save a life!! Thank God my Docor DID!
