I was eighteen when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, within three months of diagnosis I had a complete thyroidectomy and had twenty-one lymph nodes removed, followed up by radioactive iodine treatment, so far my prognosis has been very good. I don't know if this would justify me as a child or not because I was eighteen but I was told it was very rare for someone so young to have that degree of a thyroid cancer. My surgeon and endocrinologist are both located in Michigan.
