Hi. I actually just got my tonsils out at the age of 23. The surgery was one week ago today and the recovery has been rough. I am out of work for 2 weeks and there has been lots of pain as well as referred pain to my ears. I am also very hungry because I have not been able to eat much since the surgery. My recommendation is: if the surgery will improve your health than go for it but be prepared for a long recovery. And the recovery process for me has been an up and down pattern. For instance, I felt better yesterday, but then this am I felt awful-lots of pain etc. The dr. said that is normal but it is very frusturating. I was also very nausau for about 5 days and vommitted once. The nausau I believe was from the meds that you are suppose to take with food. However, due to pain when swallowing eating food is nearly impossible. Any more questions just ask. Good luck
