I just recently had my tonsils out and I'm 18, my tonsils were also very enlarged. Five days after having my tonsils out I went to college 3 hours from my home town. My throat started to bleed. It bled a couple of times and I ended up having to have another surgery to stop the bleeding. It was the most painful thing that I have ever encountered. So if you don't really need to get them out. Don't I wouldn't want any one to go through what I went through. Maybe also get a second opinion. If you have to get them out. Take it easy for at least 2 weeks. Good Luck
