Jessica, it is unusual to be diagnosed as young as 13. I am now almost 52 and have been through most of menopause and the disease has pretty much disappeared. I had some rough moments and have lingering neurological problems associated with pregnancy. The leading researchers for AIP are at Abbot-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. There is an excellent article in the Annals of Internal Medicine I think in 1975.
