My daughter suffered from night terrors. If you didn't know better you might think she was awake because her eyes were open. Sometimes her head would wobble on her neck. She would sometimes become even more upset if I wouldn't do something like crawl under the bed with her. In this particular instance she thought something was after us and we needed to find safety under the bed. I was several months pregnant at the time and couldn't have fit under the bed if my life had indeed depended upon it. Finally I found the ony thing that ever worked for her. I would bring her into my bed and hold her close and read to her. Even though she might be screaming I just calmly read to her in a soothing voice. Eventually she would focus in on the sound and cadence of my voice, and then drift off into a peaceful sleep without ever really being awake. It can be difficult to read to a hysterical child, but hold him close and hang in there, maybe this will work for you too. My daughter would almost never remember these incidents if I asked her about it the next day. If it helps, she grew out of these night terrors by the time she was ten. Good Luck! Jeri
