Night terrors are usually self-limiting in that they are usually "grown out" of... However, If they should persist, it is strongly advised that your child see a psychotherapist in case there has been some type of trauma inflicted upon the child that she can't or won't tell you. Please never assumue that because you adequately supervise your child that nothing could have happened to her. It is worth the time & trouble to investigate every possibility. If by chance, you are not comfortable with the therapist you chose, select another...very important that she is comfortable with this person. Best of luck ! Sincerely, Tracy Valdez, MSN
