"Herpes" can occur anywhere in the body where there are openings, where the germs can get into your body: genitals, mouth, cuts on hands, etc. The technical name is Herpes Simplex Virus; so it is a virus, and you know how hard they are to control. I will guess that there is a test you can take to find out if it is Herpes.
