I did not believe loud music would cause my ears any harm, unless it was blaring and persistant. Since I was an adolescent I've been an avid fan of loud rock music. I've attended literally hundreds of concerts as well as being in a band myself. No one in my peer group ever wore ear protection, and although I knew that ear protection was advised, I was #1. Young and indestructable and #2. If I ever did get ringing in my ears, it would go away in a matter of minutes, and this is what I was used to. Finally after much exposure, I developed a horrible case of tinnitus. Has anyone else developed tinnitus from loud music? It is funny, because I know people who, like me, did not protect their ears, and were exposed to the same amount of noise, if not more--and do not have this affliction! I guess some people's ears are more suseptilble than others. If anyone can relate, please inform.
