I am an adult suffering with RSD myself as an adult and I know it is hard to understand. I was first treated in 8/02 the non-invasive way meaning with capzasin-hp cream and in the cream the main ingriedent is hot chili peppers which creates intese heat into the effected area and then I have been on a drug called Neurontin which is given for seizures but also for phantom pain because I became an amputee in 1/02 due to a chronic bone infection. My next step since the non invasive way did not take with the capzasin cream-hp and the neurontin did not work I will be taking my first nerve block and have no idea about my outcome because of the time frame involved in waititing as of being diagnosed with the RSD. Sometimes if the time frame involved is past a certain point it may be hard to clear up the RSD and the treatment may not be as effective. Please do not ask why the doctors have come tothis conclusion.
