Recently I have seen two articles stating that prolonged or recurrent sinus infections may actually be due to fungi living in the sinus cavities rather than a bacterial infection. It would seem that there are antifungal medications that are still experimental, but are about 75-80% effective in treating sinus fungi. Does anyone know any more about this or where I might find additional information?
