Barbara, please let me know what to expect during the Whipple surgery and what you have experienced with your mom in the recovery stage. My mom was positive biopsy on 11/8, has been on gemcitabine 3X since 11/14. Hope is to shrink the tumor enough for the whipple. The chemo and pain meds have made her very weak. She isn't eating enough to be a "healthy, strong candidate" for surgery! What is this surgery all about? I need info from an experienced person, not a doctor!I need the real details! I am her ears and the doctors only tell us what we ask about or what they want us to think or know! I think it is very promising that your mom already has had the surgery! Thanks in advance!
