Reg: I have been searching the internet for hours to find information on internal shingles and was ecstatic to find your message. I am only in my 8th week of this disease and have been in the emergency room and admitted for pain control twice so far. I do not know how you have managed for 2 1/2 years. The pain is so intense that I have had to take a medical leave. I, too, am on nuerontin and percocet for pain, but I have just had my first of three therapeutic injections in the spine in hopes of curing the infection in the nerve area. The bad news is that the dr. said that this is not usually successful after the first couple of weeks of the disease. If it does not take, there are other procedures involving implanting electrodes in the spinal area and perhaps the abdomen as well and shocking the area. I do not know a lot about these last procedures, and I am not sure that I described them very well. I will be attempting to follow your messages. Have you heard from others? I am a 46 year old female with other health problems that contribute to this..don't know how you manage with a youngster. Best wishes- A
