I am not sure if she is still out there but I thought that maybe I could help. Janice, I do not know how old you are but I assure you, they do operate on adults for scoliosis. I too hated the way that my back looked. When I was 20 I went into a doctor for a knee problem and ended up looking at my back with a 60 degree and 55 degree curve. I had surgery when I was 21 and after recovery period I was ok. I had better posture and my back looked so much better, I was even able to where halter tops. Unfortunately I turn 24 in a few days and I am going back for a second surgery, something happened and I am draining spinal fluid. They have no idea how bad it is but I am having surgery again on may 19. If you have any questions please let me know and hopefully i can help.
