Someone please help me by providing some info on nephrotic syndrome in children. My granddaughter was just diagnosed today with the problem. She is 3 years old, a monoamniotic twin of 29 weeks gestation. She has a history of OHS to repair a large VSD(10 mm) at the age of 6 months. She also has a history of urinary reflex diagnosed almost 2 years ago and has been managed on Bactrim. She has been doing fine until one week ago at which time she spiked a fever of 104 axillary. We treated her with the usual Motrin q6h and tylenol elixir inbetween her motrin doses. She has been managed well for the past year and a half on Bactrim for her urinary reflux. I need some medical advice. What is the usual course of treatment and what is the prognosis? What possibly could have precipitated this condition? Thank You, Rosie
