I can definatly sympathize with your son. When I was 12 years old I was diagnosed with Scoliosis and was told I would have to wear a brace for about 1 and a half years. I too was absolutley mortified. I was at the age where a girl starts to notice boys. It was also a crucial time in my life- I wanted to be accepted by all my peers and desperatly needed to fit in. It was difficult but I persevered and things turned out well. Tell your son to keep his head up and try to educate his peers about his condition. They may be more tolerable and accepting of his condition and his feelings if he is open with them.
