Hello, was reading your story & wanted to see if i could be of help. My son had a spon.pne. in feb of this year he was 19 at the time we had taken him to several doctors for the past 2 years with complaints he couldnt breath and his chest hurt all the time they sent him to 3 heart specilast each with a different opion everything from mvp to almost heart surgery till one finally said nothing is wrong with his heart.Not one doctor in 2 years x-rayed his lungs finally he came home from working 12 hrs a day got in the shower and fell on one knee with severe pain he felt he could not breath i took him to the er room at first they thought he had plursey then they did an x-ray they rushed in and said his lung was 52% collasped what horror they immedtely inserted a chest tube. this was the begining of hell for us for the next few days to follow he cryed day and night scared to death this was on tuesday the following monday they did surgery on him. they made 4 insecions removed some of his lung and blebs then stapled and glued it back to his chest wall. he spent 14 days in the hospital he had to have 12 ivs 6 in one day his veins kept collasping 14 shots in his stomach to keep his blood thined. he is 5ft 9 weighs 124 pounds. this experence has left him in a bad mental state we have started him in counciling they say he is very sick. He still has pain all the time fills like he cant breath he is on 2 different nerve pills daily. He was a very active person worked 7 days 12 hrs a day for 2 yrs. now the doctor says he proble wont be able to work again. if any one can give me any info on how long the pain and worry subides i would appericate it. also they told him it was a chance it could happen to his left lung. so he worrys daily if it will. also he went to the doctor last week he has been running fever for 2 weeks they said he has alot of scar tissue on his lung and what looks like the beginning of enyzema. he does not smoke does anyone know what happens with the scar tissue. thanks any info would help.
