I would like to know if anyone has had experience w/ rx's for Nephritis recurrent, UTI's & Sepsis. I have had either sepsis or kidney infections 1-2 x's a yr requiring prolonged hospital stays & O/P IVAB's. My kidney bx done 7 yrs ago showed mesangial & hereditary nephritis possible. Is it possible to have lupus in the kidney get more severe over time. I have been on Prednisone in varying doses from pulsed iv steroids of 1000 Gm to 40-60 Mg of Prednisone by mouth. Whenever I wean down on the Prednisone I flare up. I don't want to take any thing stronger than Methotrexate but as I'm getting sick all the time I'm unsure what course to take. I was on a CD-4 Ligans protocol & ended up hospitalized for Enterococcal Sepsis. I got warts & fungal nailss after this tx. Any alternative tx's other than immune suppressives ???
