I have a 30 year old brother that was involved in a car accident in June of 1996, he stayed in complete coma for around 6 to 9 months, he depended fully on machines to eat, breath, to stay a live. Then he improved and awakened from his coma, now he is able to chew food, drink (when it's put in his mouth), slow talk, recognize everybody around him, and remembered almost everything, except things happens after the accident, he is having difficulties sometimes. His physical condition, is not good at all, his muscles are all contracted, he lies on his bed in a fetus position, cannot set, walk, or move any of his arms or legs, basically he lost control of his voluntary parts (arms and legs). I am wondering if there is any surgeries possible, that could release the SPASTIC (I don't know if he said right, I meant the tension and contraction he is having in his muscles all over his body), and if the physical therapy could be beneficial for him. Any advice of any kind is very appreciated: Hospitals that take care of such cases, Brain Surgeons, Rehab Centers, etc. Thank you.
