I also had cervical dysplasia. My colposcopy showed pre-cancerous cells. I was given the option of a hysterectomy or laser treatment to the cervix. My daughters were 5 and 7 at the time and I opted for the hysterectomy because I did not intend to have more children. I had a friend who also was diagnosed with dysplasia. I don't mean to scare you, but she had the laser burning of the cervix and unfortunately she was not as lucky as I was. She died of cervical cancer. This was 10 years ago and there may be better treatments now, but I was too nervous about the possibility of the laser not being effective. Get more than one opinion from respected gynecologists. Truthfully, it was a great pleasure to not have a period any more!!
