When I was hospitalized in 98 (104 fever..red, swolen lower right leg), I started receiving IV antibiotics and was recovering slowly. After a few days when a k-pad (heating) pad was applied for several hours (was supposed to be on 1 hr and off 1 hr), I had severe blisters on the back/bottom of my leg upon its' removal. Question: Is the application of a heating pad "standard" treatment for cellulitus and are second degree burns (at the "blistered" area) normal results from cellulitus ? I had to see a cosmetic surgeon for possible skin graft... thank God it healed (with significant scaring).
