Hello: You are evidently quite nervous about the state of your daughter's seizures. I do not have a child with this epilepsy, but I have been an epileptic since birth. My seizures were not evident until the age of 14 when a grand mal seizure occurred in a movie theater with my parents. I had been having psychomoter seizures for years, and if anyone had been taking the concern early enough with me that you are taking with your daughter, much anguish could have been averted. My condition was the result of a birth trauma. Has your doctor taken steps with X rays or a CAT scan to rule out the possibility of neglect during the birthing procedure? If neglect is a possibility, you may have recourse to legal procedures against the medical personnel. How badly do the seizures affect your daughter psycologically? Is she a loner? Is she fearful of seizure activity? Does she appear confused at times? These are warning signs that drug intervention must be discussed with your doctor. Much pain and suffering can be avoided if such things are caught early enough. Believe me, I speak from experience, not just from watching epilepsy as it affects another person. There are other web sites for dealing with epilepsy, but if I can help, you may email me at any time.
