I'm 8 1/2 months post-op from an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion at C5-6, C6-7, and decompression of the spinal cord at C6-7 and decomression of the nerve roots at C5, C6 & C7. I was to the point of falling all the time, bladder & bowel problems, numbness on the left side (thought I was having a heart attack at times), etc. When I was finally diagnosed, my Neurosurgeon told me it was surgery or a wheel chair in no time (my spinal cord was compressed ribbon thin). So, I had the surgery 3 weeks after the diagnosis. This was the result of a horse accident 1 1/2 years before that and the ortho docs I were seeing at the time missed all the symptoms. Ask you Neurosurgeon what your options are... And good luck. Kristen
