I recently started looking into natural medicine, and you are correct in that there are things you can do naturally to attempt to address diabetes. Two references to look into are given below. BOOK Murray & Pizzorno. Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine, revised 2nd ed. (Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com carry this paperback for under $30). They give recommendations by condition. I have had success with other health problems by following their advice. I would recommend this as a starting point. NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE CLINIC The naturopathic/natural medicine version of Mayo Clinic is located at Bastyr University in Seattle(?). (Bastyr U. is one of the leading schools of naturopathic medicine (vs. MDs = allopathic medicine) on the continent. Its faculty are actively involved in using modern biochemical, etc. techniques to support natural medicine.) You can make an appointment for your child at http://www.bastyr.edu/contact/referral.asp If you can afford the travel, I would try them. I am a chemistry Ph.D. student about 4 months from graduation and have looked up some of the scientific articles given in the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine -- the chemistry is sound, so I trust Bastyr's competence. I hope this information can help your child improve her quality of life -- I believe it can. Good luck!
