I just found out that I have giardia and am on medication. I fear I may have been a carrier for some time before I finally sought medical attention. My concern is my 5 month old grand daughter who has been visiting almost every weekend for the past month. I am expecting to see my family again this weekend. Should I call and tell them not to come? I have been reading about possible causes and prevention, but the risk of giving the parasite to my family, my grandaughter in particular, is frightening. I will be calling my doctor tomorrow, but would appreciate any other advice.
