                        I have a chronic bursitis problem in my knees as well and can't tolerate anti-inflammatories.  Glucosamine has helped, and if I have a flare-up, I do an ice massage around the kneecap.  I free water in dixie cups and then do a circular, clockwise massage.  It really helps with the swelling!
