Your doctor should be allowed to make that call. If it is, I know he/she can then prescribe Carafate and/or Zantac (or Tagamet), which in combination, will heal most ulcers. The Carafate has been used widely for years for this purpose. There are many other new antacid products besides Zantac & Tagamet, but these are now in generic form, thus cheaper, if that's a consideration. I have heard that the new 'purple pill', Nexium, heals ulcers all on its own, but that's just hearsay from someone at church; I don't yet know enough about it to say definitively. I do recommend you seeing your doctor, though; that's why he/she went to school for so many years; to diagnose simple illnesses such as this (simple, only because it's easily healed).
