Has your Dr. talked to you about Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrom? It is a condition of the ovaries and could cause other problems later in life if not addressed early. I was diagnosed with PCO at age 30 but looking back I probably started showing symptoms when I first started to menstruate. Irregular periods or none, hormonal imbalances, increased facial hair, etc. Mine has been connected to insuline resistance and difficulty getting pregnant. My Dr. gave me BC pills, they didn't work, I actually had muscular problems with them. My body can not tolerate birth control pills or replacement hormones, so they are treating me with metformine (glucose). There are new studies being done on this condition using the metformine and it has seemed to help me. I used to get cysts large enough to burst and I would be hospitalized, but now I actually have periods. I have gone from 2 a year to up to 6 per year, this is a good change my body is responding finally.
