First of all, ALWAYS report work-related injuries to your supervisor immediately! Thank God I did.....I was assaulted by a student at a local high school where I was employed part-time. I now suffer from permanent cervical neck damage as well as lumbar disk protrusions. The pain has radiated down my arms and have caused weakness and nerve damage to my limbs. Unlike you, I have not had an operation on my spine, nor do I think will opt for that in the future. I found water therapy (arobics, sitting in a whirlpool, etc.) relieves the pain a lot....also ultrasound and massage by a chiropractor or physical therapist twice a week helps to aleviate the pain.Sad thing is, I was a svelt size 7 when the accident occured, now I have gained 50 pounds! Anybody have any diet ideas/exercises for the disabled?
