Hi Carole, It's interesting that the doctors told you to get off of the Prednisone, and to get on Methotrexate. Also, they told you to get on the waiting list for Enbrel. That could be a very long wait. Don't the doctors think the Methotrexate will work for you? Why do they recommend that you get on Enbrel instead of just staying on Methotrexate? Does that mean that Enbrel is a superior drug? I've read that Methotrexate is a very good drug, and in low doses, is pretty safe. My rheumatologist wants me to start on Methotrexate next month for my PMR, which has been acting up even on 10 mg of Prednisone. In fact, my doctor wonders if there might be some RA starting up, because I have had new symptoms of some swelling and pain in a few fingers, my knees, one elbow, and one foot in the last couple of months. Blood tests were normal, but of course, the tests were taken while I was on the Prednisone. My doctor would like me to taper off Prednisone too, since I've been on it over a year and a half, and I've had numerous relapses lately and had to jump up to 15 mg several times. Is there any site on the Web that might offer some documentation about PMR lasting a longer time with many flares? Thanks so much for your post! Best wishes to you! Shar
