IF you really really need to have gallbladder surgery you better do it. But I would try some kind of cleanse first. I had surgery 23 years ago and boy was it tough. I understand they do it now with a laporoscope or even with laser. My grandma was 92 when she had that done and she wanted to go shopping three days later!(shes 103 now) I have a friend whose mom put off having gallbladder surgery and she nearly died as a result. She was left with pancreatic problems and diabetes. However its not always just over and done with when you have surgery either. For years and years I have had gallbladder like pain under my rib cage and dreadful back spasms. They have finally decided I have something unusual called post gallbladder syndrome and its getting worse. The pain is worse than the original pain for gallstones. So I take antispasmodics and they are even trying a heart medication which helps spasms to stop and nothing works very well. So I put with a lot of misery and pain and am thankful for every day I feel good. The attacks last about three days. I hope I have not frightened you too much, talk about these things with your doctor and the best of luck.
