Hey I'm not a doctor but I am a mother of 2 children w/ an extremely rare eye disorder called achromatopsia. There are 2 versions of this called complete or incomplete. My children have congenital complete achromatopsia. In laymens terms this means it was inherited and they see no color at all. Now wait before you trash this and say your son doesn't have it because it is inherited. Yes my kids showed signs of this at 3 months old. But, there have been cases of it happening later in life. I am not real knowledgeable about these cases but you might want to ask your doctor about having an ERG done. This will tell you if your son's cones are fnctioning or not. Called Rod Monochromatism. I don't mind telling you what I know but I also don't want to type on paragraphs forever on stuff you already tried or know about.
